Graduate and Undergraduate Scholarship Contest

$2,000 Scholarship Awards

Final Submission Deadline - Friday, March 22, 2024

 

Dear Undergraduate and Graduate Students!

 

Do you have an interest to pursue a career in supply chain management? If so, then submit an industry-focused research paper to ASCM Atlanta Chapter for the 2nd Annual Student Paper Competition. 

 

ASCM Atlanta Chapter encourages students from a broad range of academic disciplines to become actively engaged in the dynamic and technologically challenging business field of supply chain management. 

 

To promote this goal, ASCM Atlanta Chapter offers one undergraduate and one graduate scholarship award.  Each scholarship winner receives a $1,000 check to towards furthering their educational aspirations. 

 

 

Two Scholarship Awards 

 

The winners will be formally recognized at the Annual Student Awards Night held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.  The winners will also have their papers published on the ASCM Atlanta Chapter’s website and will be publicly recognized via LinkedIn and the ASCM Atlanta Chapter’s newsletter. 

 

The objective of the student paper competition is to offer students an industry platform to demonstrate their research skills and knowledge within areas of interest that are important to the supply chain industry and the ASCM community. The approved topics for the paper competition are listed below: 

 

  • Production Planning

  • Inventory Planning and Replenishment

  • Sales & Operations Planning

            - Demand Planning

            - Supply Planning

  • Procurement

    - Sourcing

    - Buying

  • Logistics

            - Warehousing

            - Transportation

  • Sustainability

 

 

ASCM Atlanta Chapter’s Student Paper Committee (comprised of a panel of leading academics and industry professionals) will independently judge all submissions. The winners will be personally notified in March 2024. The two student winners are asked to attend the awards event to be officially recognized at the Annual Award Ceremony / Professional Development Meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. 

 

Criteria for evaluating submissions:

 

  • Demonstration of thorough industry knowledge in supply chain management 

  • Relevancy to current supply chain management trends

  • Knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of existing supply chain infrastructures and the potential areas for improvement 

  • Innovation and depth of industry knowledge

  • Writing quality and presentation.

 

Submission:

 

Submit papers in Microsoft Word format as an email attachment. Papers should be no longer than 2,500 words, single spaced in 12-point font, and include a bibliography. Charts and graphs are highly encouraged.

 

The subject line in the email submission should be “ASCM Atlanta Chapter Student Paper Competition”. The cover page should include:

 

  • Paper Title

  • Your Full Name

  • Academic Affiliation

  • Undergraduate / Graduate Status 

  • Major

  • Mailing Address and Phone Number

 

Note: The above information should not appear anywhere else in the paper and any incomplete and unformatted papers will not be considered.

 

Papers should be submitted to info@atlanta.ascm.org by Friday, March 22, 2024.

 

Students submitting papers for the competition do not need to be members of ASCM. However, ASCM Atlanta Chapter encourages all students to become members (ASCM Membership is free for college students). For more information about how to join ASCM please visit http://www.ASCM.org/Membership/
