Graduate and Undergraduate Scholarship Contest

$2,000 Scholarship Awards

Submission Deadline is Wednesday, February 14th, 2024

 

 

Dear Undergraduate and Graduate Students!

 

Do you have an interest in pursuing a career in supply chain management? If so, submit your best paper to the ASCM Atlanta Chapter's annual student paper competition. 

 

ASCM Atlanta Chapter would like to encourage students in a broad range of academic disciplines to become active participants in the rapidly changing world of supply chain management. 

 

 

$1,000 First Place Scholarship Award for Graduate Students

$1,000 First Place Scholarship Award for Undergraduate Students

 

- The two scholarship winners will each receive a check for $1,000 

 

-  Recognition at the annual Student Night that will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024  

 

-  Publication of the winning papers on the ASCM Atlanta Chapter's website

 

 

The objective of the student paper competition is for the students to demonstrate their understanding of an area of interest within supply chain management.

 

Papers Topics Include:

 

  • Production Planning

  • Inventory Planning and Replenishment

  • Sales and Operations Planning

 

  • Procurement

  • Sourcing

  • Buying

  • Logistics

         

  • Sustainability

 

 

The ASCM Atlanta Chapter's Student Paper Committee will review all submissions and the winners will be notified via email or phone.  Winners will be formally recognized in person at a special awards event on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.  

Criteria for evaluating submissions:

 

  • Demonstrating an understanding of the current supply chain management environment

  • Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of existing supply chain infrastructure and constraints and possibilities for improving and expanding these capabilities

  • Innovation and depth of knowledge

  • Writing quality and presentation

 

Submission:

 

Submit papers in Microsoft Word format as an email attachment. Papers should be no longer than 2,500 words and include a bibliography.  Charts and graphs are welcome.

 

The Subject in the email should be ASCM Atlanta Student Paper Competition. The cover page should include your full name, academic affiliation, current year in school, major, address and phone number, but these should not appear anywhere else in the paper.

 

Papers should be submitted to Russ Thorne, EVP (RussThorne262@gmail.com) no later than Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

 

Incomplete and unformatted submissions will not be considered.

 

Students need not be members of ASCM Atlanta Chapter.  ASCM Atlanta Chapter encourages all students to become members.  For more information about joining ASCM, please visit http://www.ASCM.org/Membership/
